In his talk the explains that when someone experiences trauma, it triggers considerable emotional turmoil, altering an individual’s perception of themselves, their world, and the people around them. It can disrupt the individual’s biological, cognitive, and emotional functioning plus their identity, relationships, and social interactions.
The presentation presents data from a large survey of people with lived experiences and Neil highlights, using the data, the significance of the words we speak and how they can impact emotions.
